Citrus LGBTQ Pride Inc.
September 11, 2020 A Virtual Meeting Using Zoom
Present: Chuck Higgins, John Gileza, Oneida Scofield, Tim Fellencer, Nathan Sharp and Eddie Sharp
President - Chuck reported on the recent Facebook ad. Cost of the ad was $25 and it ran for 5 days. The theme was the start of 2021 Pride planning. We reached 1,369 people, had 110 click on our website, gained one new member and received one donation of $50. We added to our mailing list which at the time of the meeting has 98 people on it.
Tim moved to reimburse Chuck $25 for the cost of the ad. Seconded by Oneida. Motion passed without oposition.
Pride Event - Tim reported that he has not yet contacted Millie at the mall but will try to get hold of her by phone to make sure we're still ok to use the mall next June. Some discussion ensued about getting sponsors.
LGBTQ Youth and Parenting Outreach - Chuck presented an idea for a place to start as we begin to explore how to set up and active effort to support LGBTQ youth and parents of LGBTQ children. Because we're small and demand for assistance probably won't be huge in terms of number of requests, Chuck suggested that we reach out to Hernando Pride and see if they would like to partner with us and reach out to Equality Florida to see if they can provide expert advice and guidance about how best to go about this activity.
The group discussed this idea and agreed with the approach. Chuck will contact Hernando Pride and Equality Florida and report back to the board.
Status of Current LGBTQ Organizations in Citrus County - the group had a short discussion about the three existing organizations and how they fit together as a whole.
The meeting was adjourned at 4pm.
